Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How can I obtain a generic medication made by Teva?
A.
It's easy. Talk with your pharmacist about being switched to the FDA-approved Teva generic for your medication. If your pharmacy does not carry the Teva product, a pharmacist may be able to order the medication for you at no additional cost.

Q. I'm already taking a generic medication made by another manufacturer. How can I switch to Teva's?
A. It is important to trust the medicine you are taking. With Teva's high safety standards, patients may feel more comfortable taking a Teva medication. Check to see if Teva has the generic version of the medication you're currently taking and ask your pharmacist if your prescription can be filled with the Teva generic. If an exact Teva match is not available for your medication, find out what therapeutic category it's from and see if there's another generic alternative that Teva does make. Then, speak with your healthcare provider about switching to the Teva product.

Q. Where can I find Teva medications?
A. Teva's generic medications are available in most pharmacies across the United States, though not all pharmacies carry the same Teva medications. To find out if your medication is available as a Teva generic, contact your local pharmacy. If the pharmacy doesn't regularly stock a certain medication from Teva, ask if it can be ordered for you at no additional cost.

Q. How can I find out the price of Teva's medications?
A. Simply contact your local pharmacy to inquire about the cost of your medication, and be sure to tell your pharmacist if you have insurance. Pharmacy prices and services may differ, so you may want to call a few stores in your area to find the best option for your needs.

Q. How can I tell if I am taking a medicine made by Teva?
A. The manufacturer's name is usually printed on the prescription bottle label or paperwork you receive. In some cases, "TEVA" or "TV" may be printed on the tablet or capsule. You can look for the product on our website. Or, ask your pharmacist, who can be a great resource for all your prescription questions!

Q. Where are Teva products made?
A. As the largest generic manufacturer in the world, Teva is able to offer more generic prescription medications than any other company. In fact, one out of every six generic prescriptions in the United States is filled with a Teva product!1 In order to offer so many different medications and still maintain a high level of quality, we use close to 20 different Teva facilities to manufacture our products.3 The majority of our products are made in North America and by our parent company in Israel.3 Every Teva prescription medication sold in the United States is approved by the FDA. The FDA also inspects and approves each of our facilities (inside and outside of the United States) to ensure our products are of the highest-quality standards.5

Q. Does Teva offer a Patient Assistance Program?
A. Teva offers a broad line of affordable generic alternatives to brand-name medications. Please feel free to ask your doctor or pharmacist about switching to a Teva generic that's right for you. Teva does not offer an additional cost saving program for its generic medications.

Q. Can I buy directly from Teva?
A. Our medications are only available by prescription and can be purchased through your pharmacy. Teva only sells its medications to wholesale distributors and cannot sell products directly to patients.
